Band Camp (for Marching Band)
Band camp is held at Edison in the weeks before school begins. Band camp is typically the first three weeks of August. The first two weeks are all day (9 am-5 pm) and the third week is afternoon and/or evenings.
Tag Day is the primary fundraiser of the entire year. Students go door-to-door in pairs in the Edison community. In full Marching Eagles uniform, they interact with supporters and neighbors, explaining the role of the band, reuniting with alumni, and asking for donations. Students leave a “tag” at each home with Marching Eagles and concert band performance dates. Parents drive support cars and shuttle students from the high school in shifts. Following Tag Day, donations can also be made online here.
Volunteers for driving (and other functions) are essential!!
More information for volunteers, along with instructions for students and drivers will closer to the day
Band and color guard students in good standing are invited to participate in the spring trip. The destination, schedule, and cost will be announced annually. Trips were to Williamsburg, Virginia in 2014 and 2018, to Charlotte, NC in 2016, and to Orlando, Florida, in 2015, 2017 and 2019.
At the conclusion of the marching season, both bands- concert and symphonic- will hold concerts in the auditorium. Ask your student for the calendar and check the “events” page of this website.
